Context
Mucicom, the museum of Biancavilla, brings together contemporary art collections and local archaeological finds under one roof. The challenge was to create a symbol that could represent the museum space without tying it to a specific collection, staying recognisable regardless of the exhibition on display.
Solution
The museum has been conceived as a container that adapts to the different exhibitions and realities it hosts, rather than as the sum of its collections. The chosen symbol is the main gate of the villa, simplified into its essential geometric forms. The identity then uses the courtyard as a metaphor for the exhibition space: the logo frame adapts to the content, just as the museum adapts to different types of exhibitions.
Outcome
Mucicom presents itself with a dynamic symbol that can adapt to different contexts and formats. This flexibility guides the development of a modern and consistent communication across every channel, from social media to museum signage: wherever it appears, the logo recalls the idea of exhibition space that inspired the project.
Adaptive symbol
The villa gate becomes a minimal sign that represents the museum without being tied to any specific collection.
Modular frame
The logo frame changes proportion depending on the content, echoing the villa courtyard that adapts each time to the exhibitions it hosts.
Consistent system across channels
The same exhibition space concept appears in the same way on social media and museum signage, maintaining strong recognition in every context of use.
